Her interest in poetry and art started in high school when Miss Ross and Mr. Schumacher, her English teachers, took her under their wings. She studied fine art at the University of Wisconsin—Madison where she studied under Milton Resnick, one of the 20th centuries best known abstract artists.  Five of her books of poetry have been published, including \u003cem\u003eI Sleep Between the Moons of New Mexico, White Ermine Across Her Shoulders, The Healer, Here We Breathe in Sky and Out Sky,\u003c\/em\u003e and\u003cem\u003e Under the Tail of the Milky Way Galaxy. \u003c\/em\u003eHer poems have been published in anthologies, magazines, and small literary journals. Her pastels have been featured in a number of galleries and publications in New Mexico, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. She currently lives in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin with her husband and dog where her two daughters and four grandchildren come to visit on a regular basis.
