Lin Nelson Benedek earned her MFA in Writing at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. She has had poems published in a number of journals and in six anthologies. Her first full-length poetry collection, I Was Going to Be a Cowgirl, was published by Kelsay Books in 2017. Her second poetry collection, When a Peacock Speaks to You in a Dream, was published in 2018, also by Kelsay Books. A third-generation Californian, Lin lives with her husband, Tom, in Altadena, under the spell of wildflowers, orange blossoms and the San Gabriel Mountains. Their son, Nicky, lives in nearby Highland Park. A longtime psychotherapist, Lin is passionate about human connection and believes in the power of poetry to heal, connect and transform us. She is working on a memoir called Love-Starved Girl.
